Copies of passport or travel documents of all people included in the application and, if medical examinations have already been undertaken, original passports.

Recent passport photo (45mmx35mm) (10 Nos.)

Print the name of the person on the back of each photograph.

Letter of offer issued by education provider or electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)

Evidence of the relationship between members of the family unit certificates (including those who are not joining you in Australia)..

Example:

  • Certified copies or notarised copies of birth (including those who are not joining you in Australia)
  • Marriage certificate.

If married, evidence that the marriage is genuine and ongoing:

Example:

  • Selection of wedding photos and other photos
  • Affidavits from yourself and third parties
  • Evidence of join ownership of assets/finances

Financial documents, including:

  • Evidence of funds held, loan and/or scholarship
  • Evidence of income

Provide evidence that you have sufficient funds to cover yourself and your family members for the period of any preliminary course and the first 12 months of your principal course for:

  • Living costs
  • Tuition costs

Declare on your student visa application that you have access to sufficient funds to cover the same costs for the remainder of your stay. Provide evidence that you have access to funds to cover travel costs to and from Australia.
Financial support can be provided by eligible family members. These include:

  • The applicant
  • The applicant's spouse
  • The applicant's parents
  • The applicant's grandparents
  • The applicant's brothers and sisters;
  • An uncle or aunt of the applicant who is:
  • An Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible

New Zealand citizen

Usually resident in Australia
"In-laws" are not included in the definition of acceptable individual and therefore cannot provide financial support to a student under the legislation.

Kinds of Funds

  • A money deposit in an acceptable financial institution held by an acceptable Individual. This deposit must have been consistently held for 6 months for AL4. You will need to provide a bank statement dating 6 months back from the date of application and the lowest balance in that statement will be considered as the amount consistently held. We must also see evidence that the person who holds the bank account has sufficient income to have saved those funds or another legitimate means by which the holder came to have the funds (eg sale of house, inheritance).
  • A loan issued by an acceptable financial institution to an acceptable individual. Please provide evidence of the income available to repay the loan and evidence of the collateral used to secure the loan. the loan must be at least partially disbursed into an acceptable individual's bank account before the visa can be granted
  • We currently accept money deposits held in certain provident funds if they are withdrawable
  • Money deposits held in post office accounts if they are withdrawable.

Health Documents

If you are applying from outside Australia and are undertaking a Pre Visa Assessment, the office processing your application will advise you if you need to undertake a health examination. All other applicants must provide one of the following:
Medical and x-ray examinations for yourself and any family unit member planning to remain with in you Australia; or Evidence of a booking, or receipt, from Heath Services Australia (HSA) for your medical and x-ray examinations.
